>Clinical Trial Shows Ozempic Reduces Alcohol Cravings

(Los Angeles, CA) -- Ozempic, the popular diabetes and weight loss drug, reduces alcohol cravings and liquor consumption. That's what the first clinical trial involving GLP-1 drugs is showing according to research published in the journal JAMA Psychiatry. The study, involving 48 people with moderate alcohol-use disorder, demonstrated that people on low doses of Ozempic for just nine weeks drank significantly less than those on a placebo. Researchers at the University of Southern California Institute for Addiction Science conducted the study and believe Ozempic and similar drugs, like Mounjaro, could be the future in treating many of the 30-million Americans with alcohol-use disorder.
