Study Confirms Nature Is The Best Physician

(Finland) -- Visiting nature may reduce the need for medication to treat mental health issues, high blood pressure, and asthma. That's according to a new study published yesterday in the journal Occupational & Environmental Medicine. Researchers interviewed six-thousand people in Finland and found those who visited nature three to four times a week had significantly lower odds of using medications for anxiety, asthma, depression, high blood pressure, or insomnia. In an email to CNN Health, co-author Anu Turunen said doing some sort of physical activity appears to be the key factor in getting health benefits from green spaces.
