Several Pets Killed, Two Hospitalized In Mobile Home Fire

A mobile home fire in East Manchester Township, Pennsylvania, early Thursday (December 11) morning resulted in the hospitalization of two people and the death of several pets. The fire occurred on the 100 block of Starview Boulevard, with emergency crews responding to the scene at approximately 2:29 a.m. The Eagle Fire Company reported that the home was engulfed in flames upon their arrival.

According to Eagle Fire Company Chief Jacob Bush, the two residents, who were asleep when the fire started, managed to escape on their own before firefighters arrived. They were transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation, with the husband already released. Tragically, three pets did not survive the fire.

The home was declared a total loss, and a vehicle was also damaged. The American Red Cross is providing assistance to the affected family. Efforts to support the family include collecting clothes, gift cards, and essentials at the Eagle Fire Department. Additionally, a GoFundMe campaign has been set up by a family member to help cover medical bills and other expenses.

The York County Regional Police Department is investigating the cause of the fire. Firefighters faced challenging conditions, including moderate winds and freezing temperatures, as they worked to extinguish the blaze. The Eagle Fire Company expressed gratitude to the other fire departments and Belfor Property Restoration for their assistance.
