LEBANON COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Saint Cecilia’s Catholic Church, the long-time distributor of the traditional fasnact in Lebanon County, has cancelled their 2025 sale of all fasnachts.
The church announced on Facebook that they will not being able to make or sell any of their signature fasnachts due to unexpected equipment failure.
Unfortunately, when I evaluated all of the many variables surrounding stopping and restarting the sale and the logistics required to find, transport and move one or two 500-700 pound mixers down a flight of stepsI determined this was an unreasonable challenge.
The decision to cancel the sale came after the church’s 100-year anniversary of selling thousands of fasnacts every year.
"Thank you again to the 160+ volunteers who help receive material, set up and run the sale," the church wrote.
