>>Two Congressmen Want To Make 9/11 A Federal Holiday

(Washington, DC) -- Two Congressmen from New York and Pennsylvania are introducing legislation to make September 11th a federal holiday. Democrat Congressman Tom Suozzi from Long Island and Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick from Pennsylvania say the bipartisan Patriot Day Act would amend Title 5 in the U.S. Code to cement 9/11 as a federal day of recognition, ensuring Americans can commemorate one of the most significant days in American History. Suozzi says the bill to commemorate the memory of 9/11 allows people to reflect on a day of immense loss, as well as one that inspired unity. This is the first piece of legislation Suozzi and Fitzpatrick have introduced as newly elected Co-Chairs of the Problem Solvers Caucus.
