The Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office has taken charge of an investigation into suspected fraudulent voter registrations in Lancaster County. The Lancaster County District Attorney, Heather Adams, announced the decision, stating that the Attorney General's Office is "best suited" for the multi-county investigation. The probe involves nearly 900 suspicious applications submitted before the November 2024 election deadline.

According to the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office, detectives reviewed 1,203 applications, finding 383 fraudulent and 453 unverifiable. The applications showed signs of fraud, such as false addresses and forged personal details. The suspected fraud is linked to large-scale canvassing operations dating back to June 2024.

District Attorney Adams praised the Lancaster County Voter Registration Office for their diligence in identifying the irregularities. She expressed confidence in the Attorney General's Office to hold those responsible accountable. The Attorney General's Office took over the investigation in January, following discussions with other counties facing similar issues.

The investigation, now led by Attorney General Dave Sunday, aims to address voter registration fraud across multiple counties. The Attorney General's Office will use evidence gathered by Lancaster County detectives to continue the investigation.
