Child Vaccination Rates Fall
(Atlanta, GA) -- Childhood vaccination rates are falling. CDC data shows less than 93-percent of kindergarteners last year got vaccinated for measles. That's down from the 95-percent rate seen before the COVID-19 pandemic. Vaccination rates for chickenpox, polio and whooping cough also fell at a similar rate. The rates had held steady for years until they began to fall during the pandemic. About 92-percent inoculation is needed for "herd immunity" where unvaccinated children aren't able to easily spread measles.
