>Woman Accused Of Punching Child During Game

A 37-year-old woman, Michelle Skaggs, is facing charges for allegedly assaulting a 13-year-old boy during a midget football league game in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. The incident occurred on Sunday, October 27, at the Shippensburg Midget Football League field. According to the State Police at Carlisle, Skaggs is accused of knocking over and punching the boy who was trying to break up an argument between two other boys. She allegedly dragged him by his hoodie while he was on his back, resulting in his glasses being broken and his cell phone screen cracked.

In addition to the assault on the boy, Skaggs is also accused of punching another person while they were on the ground. She is currently facing a misdemeanor charge of simple assault and summary charges of criminal mischief and harassment. Skaggs is currently out on unsecured bail set at $100 and awaits a preliminary hearing scheduled for October 30.

The president of the league, Jeremy Stouffer, expressed his disappointment over the incident and called for better behavior from adults at future games. He stated, "I saw two children last night sitting in the back of their car while the mother was being taken away screaming and bawling waiting for someone to come pick them up over a youth football game."
