Fish For Free Day Coming

Pennsylvania's Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) has announced that this Sunday will be the state's Fish-For-Free Day. From 12:01 a.m. until 11:59 p.m., no fishing licenses will be required to fish across Pennsylvania. However, all other fishing regulations, including seasons, sizes, and creel limits, will still apply.

The Fish-For-Free Day is an annual event that allows anyone, including out-of-state visitors, to fish in Pennsylvania's public waterways without a license. The aim is to encourage more people to try fishing and to promote the state's abundant fishing opportunities.

"During the holiday weekend, which also marks the unofficial start to the summer boating season in Pennsylvania, the PFBC is reminding anglers who will be fishing from boats to follow a basic safety checklist before and during each boating adventure," said a PFBC spokesperson.
