Cumberland Valley School Board Member Resigns Over Gay Speaker
(Harrisburg, PA) -- A Cumberland Valley school board member has resigned after the district reconsidered a vote to allow gay actor Maulik Pancholy to speak at an anti-bullying assembly. The school board had reversed its earlier decision to cancel the event due to public pushback. Brian Drapp, a seven-year school board member, says he didn't feel comfortable with children hearing from the activist. Pancholy is an award-winning actor who has written children's books on bullying and also served as an advisor in the Obama administration. He's set to speak May 22nd at Mountain View Middle School.
