Advocates Of Expanded Public Transit Rally at Capitol
(Harrisburg, PA) -- Advocates for expanded public transit in Pennsylvania rallied at the State Capitol on Tuesday. A small crowd gathered and joined in the Shapiro Administration's call for bus service to be extended to seven days a week. The Governor's budget proposal calls for a nearly two percent increase in state funding, and that this would not involve any tax increases. Republicans had expressed opposition, on the grounds that funding will be shifted away from rural communities to the cities.
