Fire Destroys Former Furniture Factory Site
(Stewartstown, PA) -- A weekend fire has destroyed a former furniture factory in York County. The blaze broke out at around 2 am Saturday morning in the former Stewartstown Furniture Factory in the first block of Mill Street and went to six alarms. Fire companies from as far away as Maryland fought the fire in the three-story building. Eureka Volunteer Fire Department Chief Todd Gibney credited a pre-plan for such an event, which limited damage to one nearby home and business. There were no reports of injuries, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
