Poll Shows Broad Support for State Providing No-Cost School Lunches
(Harrisburg, PA) - New polling shows broad support for providing no cost lunches at commonwealth schools. A new survey by the School Nutrition Association of Pennsylvania shows the majority of residents say that if schools can provide breakfast to students at no cost, they should pick up the tab for the lunch bill, too. Schools had provided free lunch to all students during the COVID pandemic, but that ended at the beginning of the 2022-23 school year. The state currently provides no-cost breakfast for all kids in schools that participate in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast programs.
