Shapiro Executive Order Creates Behavioral Health Council
(Harrisburg, PA) -- Governor Josh Shapiro has created a 33-member panel to improve care for mental health issues. The executive order issued late last week also directed the new Behavioral Health Council to find better ways to address addiction treatment. In background information for the executive order, the governor notes that more than half of the adults in the state who need mental health treatment haven't been able to get it. The order also cites ongoing shortages of drug treatment services.
