Problem Solvers Caucus Glad Shutdown Averted
(Washington, DC) -- The co-chairs of the House Problem Solvers Caucus are happy the problem of a government shutdown has been solved -- for 45 days anyway. Speaking on CBS' Face the Nation, Pennsylvania Republican Brian Fitzpatrick and New Jersey Democratic Congressman Scott Gottenheimer both agree that Congress can't keep waiting until the last minute to avoid shutdowns. Fitzpatrick called it a "cycle of insanity" that has to stop. Both Congressman blamed budget conflicts on "extremists" and said bipartisan moderates are "the solution."
