Lawmakers To Tackle Possibly Changing Dates Of Spring Primary
(Harrisburg, PA) -- State lawmakers are facing pressure to change the date of the spring primary in 2024. The primary is currently scheduled for April 23rd, which is during the Jewish holiday of Passover. Governor Josh Shapiro, who is Jewish, has called for lawmakers to move the election to avoid the holiday. In addition, some lawmakers have been pressing to get the primary moved earlier in the year to give the state a more significant role in determining presidential nominees.
