Weather Watch Day Thursday as wintry mix moves into Central PA

From CBS 21 Meteorologist Steve Knight

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa (WHP) — Today is the proverbial calm before the storm as we have mostly sunny skies with an afternoon high around 40. Clouds will be on the increase tonight with a low near 30.

TOMORROW: WEATHER WATCH DAY

A messy WINTER STORM is headed our way. We will be impacted by this storm by daybreak tomorrow morning with a wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain through midday before a changeover in the afternoon to plain rain. Some snow will arrive in the pre-dawn hours, then quickly change to an Icy mix of sleet and freezing rain through the morning.

Expect some slushy snow accumulations especially in our Northwest Counties, although everyone throughout the area could see at least a few inches of snow.

Travel on Thursday morning will be hazardous until temperatures warm in the afternoon changing much of our precipitation over to plain rain. Because of the winter storm threat, the CBS 21 First Warning Weather team has declared Thursday a WEATHER WATCH DAY.

Plan ahead and don't be caught off guard!

GRADUAL FRIDAY CLEARING:

  • Tonight: Increasing Clouds: Low 30
  • Tomorrow: Wintry Mix of Snow, Sleet, Freezing Rain to Plain Rain: High 38
