The Northern York County School Board voted eight-one against the club holding meetings at Northern York Elementary School. The Sound the Alarm smoke detector installation event is scheduled for Saturday, April 30th, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Any resident needing a smoke detector installed at no charge is asked to contact either the Reading Fire Department or the local Red Cross chapter. In 2021, Pennsylvania recorded the most deaths in house fires in the country.

(Williamsport, PA) -- A Lycoming County couple is facing child endangerment charges after five kids were found living in filth. Jeffrey Howlett and Lindy Beck were arrested at their home near Williamsport over the weekend. Police say there was food, garbage, and animal feces were scattered throughout the home. Additional drug charges are pending after what is believed to be methamphetamines were found in the home too.
