(Harrisburg, PA) -- Voters have now gotten a closer look at the democratic candidates running for the Senate in Pennsylvania. A one-hour debate hosted by WHTM-TV took place Thursday night in Harrisburg and featured Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman, U.S. Representative Conor Lamb and State Representative Malcolm Kenyatta. Topics covered included legalizing marijuana, the criminal justice system and funding schools.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- City police say they're seeing a decrease in shootings in Harrisburg and the city's mayor says it's because of a crackdown on crime. Mayor Wanda Williams says they've increased police presence this month to combat crimes ranging from shootings to drug deals. She says they identified 24 high-crime areas in the city and are saturating them at night with up to 20 officers.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- A Lebanon man no longer has his gun after it was confiscated at Harrisburg International Airport. A TSA officer noticed the gun on X-ray in the man's carry-on luggage when he went through the security point Sunday. His name hasn't been released and it's not known whether he was fined. TSA says nationally, they have detected just under six-thousand firearms on travelers or in their carry-on bags in the last year -- 86 percent of those were loaded.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Authorities have now identified all six people who died in a snow-squall pile-up on Interstate-81 last month. State Police say Rita Matos, who was 40, and Edward Ramos, who was 43, were both from Carlisle and identified through DNA analysis. The others who were killed were two people from Lexington, Massachusetts, a man from Pine Grove, West Virginia, and a man from Brooklyn, New York. Officials say 24 other people were sent to nearby hospitals.

(Cumberland County, PA) -- The Carlisle Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a woman who may be an employee at Amazon. They say surveillance video shows she stole merchandise from Walmart on several occasions. The woman has an Amazon lanyard around her neck and may possibly be employed at the nearby warehouse. The surveillance shots will soon be available on the police department's website.

(Shanksville, PA) -- The former Chief of the Shanksville, Pennsylvania, Volunteer Fire Department who responded to the Flight 93 crash on 9/11 is receiving a new heart. The family of Terry Shaffer said Wednesday he got his heart transplant on Monday after a nine-hour surgery. Shaffer was one of the first to respond to the crash site on 9/11 and later advocated for creating the Flight 93 Memorial.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Petitioners who say York's mayor didn't take the oath of office in a timely manner are having their say in court. Their lawsuit states Mayor Michael Helfrich didn't meet the deadline to take the oath and that he needs to be disqualified because of that. The mayor says he was on vacation and then attended a mayor's conference during the time in question but says he'd never have taken the personal time if he'd have known there'd be a conflict. The judge in the case has not made a ruling on the matter.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency board has raised the amount of money state students can get in unrestricted grants for college. On Thursday, the board voted to raise the maximum award to five-thousand-750-dollars in financial aid that does not have to be repaid. The idea is contingent upon 350-million-dollars being approved for funding in the new state budget.

(Scranton , PA) -- The preliminary hearing on DUI charges for a former Pennsylvania attorney general has been postponed. Kathleen Kane was arrested last month for allegedly driving under the influence in Lackawanna County. She had been set to appear Thursday, but court officials now say her appearance has been rescheduled until the end of May.

(Lower Allen Township, PA) -- A grand jury has indicted a Cumberland County resident for threatening to assassinate two presidents. The action against Mohamed Farah, who is 32 and a citizen of Somalia, comes after federal officials say he threatened to assassinate President Joe Biden. The indictment also says Farah threatened to kill former President Donald Trump if he runs for reelection. The Department of Justice says the threats were investigated by federal officials and the Lower Allen Police Department.

(Pittsburgh, PA) -- The Penguins split their home-and-home games with the Bruins after a four-nothing win in Pittsburgh. Casey DeSmith stopped all 52 shots he faced for the shutout. Jake Guentzel scored a hat trick to reach 40 goals this season and Jason Zucker also scored for the Pens. The Bruins and Penguins are both at 99 points this season.

(Hershey, PA) -- The Hershey Bears will play their final three games of the season this weekend. The Bears will visit the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Friday followed by back-to-back home games to close out their year. Hershey will rematch the Phantoms on Saturday at the Giant Center and will play the Syracuse Crunch Sunday. The team's magic number to clinch a postseason berth in the 2022 Calder Cup Playoffs is now at three.
