>>Regional Sites To Help Hospitals And Nursing Homes Overloaded By COVID-19
(Harrisburg, PA) -- State health officials and leaders with the Pennsylvania National Guard have announced plans to open four regional sites for COVID care. U.S. Army Major General Mark Schindler says they will be geared to care for COVID-19 patients who are well enough to leave the hospital but still need care. The facilities will be located within nursing homes that have more beds than they can staff and will receive staffing help from the Pennsylvania National Guard. The facilities are expected to operate for about three months.
