>>Despite Uptick In COVID Cases, Harrisburg Will Host New Year's Eve Events

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Harrisburg officials say they will hold the city's annual Strawberry Drop Event this year, despite an uptick in COVID cases across the area. The city held its first public New Year's Eve celebration in 1989 and the strawberry has been a part of the festivities since then. This year's event will be Friday from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. at FNB Field on City Island. The strawberry drop will be followed by fireworks. There will also be free kids' activities, live music, a beer garden and food for sale.
