>>High School Students Forced To Wear Clear Backpacks

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Students at John Harris High School in Harrisburg are being forced to wear clear backpacks. This comes after police found a shell casing near the school on September 7th after reports of shots being fired. School officials say the policy isn't being put in place because of the shooting, they are simply enforcing a policy they have always had but have been lax on in the past few years. The school will be providing clear backpacks for students who need them, and a board meeting will be held on September 20th to discuss disciplinary actions if a student doesn't use a clear backpack.

>>Man Accused Of Attempting To Run Down Six State Troopers

(Harrisburg, PA) -- A Harrisburg man is facing multiple charges for allegedly trying to run down six Pennsylvania State Troopers with his car. Police say on Wednesday, the troopers, who were not in uniform, were walking to the Scottish Rite Cathedral in Harrisburg when Jamal Crummel stopped his vehicle nearby. They added that Crummel then allegedly accelerated and drove directly to the troopers. The troopers reportedly had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit. Crummel allegedly tried to drive away, but the troopers stopped him and took him into custody. He is facing charges of aggravated assault and driving under the influence.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The Wolf Administration is warning residents about a rise in student loan forgiveness scams. State officials say with the continuing pandemic, many have been searching for financial relief and like other scams, these perpetrators prey upon the hope and vulnerability of people. They urge residents to be skeptical about incoming communications, research the company, be aware of what real programs will and won't ask for and verify the email address. If you feel you have been scammed, officials advise you close your accounts, alert your servicer, monitor your credit report and report the scam to the Federal Trade Commission.

>>Award Being Offered For Info On York County Warehouse Fires

(York County, PA) -- A $15,000 reward is being offered for any information on a series of warehouse fires in York County that started back in June of 2020. Police say the Target/FedEx facility in West Manchester Township has suffered millions-of-dollars of losses because of the fires. Anyone with information that could lead to an arrest and conviction of the arsonist is urged to call police at 717-792-9514.

>>Missing York County Girl Found Safe

(York County, PA) -- Officials are relieved as they found a missing York County girl yesterday afternoon. Police say 15-year-old Isabella Orner went missing on Wednesday while on a walk with her family near Heidelberg Township. Officials added that the search was harder because the girl is autistic and non-verbal, but after a 16-hour search, they found her about three-quarters of a mile away from where she went missing. Officials say she was cold and wet from being in a creek, but she was in good spirits and good health.

>>Sixteen-Year-Old Dies After Being Shot Monday

(Reading, PA) -- A 16-year-old who had been hospitalized since being shot on Monday has died. The teen's name has not been released. Police say a second teenager suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. No one has been arrested, and investigators believe the victims were targeted.

>>Missing Reading Kids Found Safe In Delaware

(Reading, PA) -- Two Reading girls have been found safe in Delaware, and their parents are facing charges after they had been reported missing. Thirty-one-year-old Darrick and 28-year-old Kayla Seachrist were with their kids. The girls are eight-years and eight-months old, and their disappearance prompted Pennsylvania State Police to issue a missing endangered person advisory.

(Wyomissing, PA) -- Families have celebrated Yom Kippur at an outdoor service in Wyomissing at Temple Ohed Sholom. The Jewish Day of Atonement closed out the ten days of penitence begun by Rosh Hashanah. For Yom Kippur, people fast and ask God for forgiveness. 

>>Apartment Fire Displaces Nine Adults

(Reading, PA) -- Nine residents of an apartment building in southeast Reading are out of their homes until repairs are made after a fire Wednesday night. Firefighters arrived to the 500-block of South 12th Street to see residents escaping to safety through windows. Fire Marshal Jeremy Searfoss says two people suffered minor injuries. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

>>Motorcyclist Killed In Lebanon County Crash

(Swatara Township, PA) -- Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the death of a motorcyclist in Lebanon County. He drifted onto the shoulder of Interstate 81 near the 99-mile marker yesterday afternoon and hit a guide rail. Police say he was pronounced dead at the scene and was wearing a helmet.

>>Lawmakers Grilled For Proposed Nursing Home Reforms

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Nursing home industry groups are grilling lawmakers for their proposed reforms. State lawmakers are proposing regulations that increase the minimum staff required in long-term care facilities to improve direct nursing care. However, officials with the Pennsylvania Health Care Association say these requirements would exacerbate an already existing workforce crisis in nursing homes. The reforms would reportedly require facilities to hire an additional seven-thousand workers and cost them hundred-of-millions-of-dollars. PHCA officials ask what steps did the state take to help them build the workforce pipeline and who will pay for this since providers have been struggling before the pandemic. This is one of five regulations from lawmakers which they hope to pass by the end of 2022.

>>Pennsylvania Farm Show Reveals 2022 Theme

(Dauphin County, PA) -- The theme for the 106th Pennsylvania Farm Show is officially out. The theme for the next event is "Harvesting More." Officials say after cultivating virtually in 2021, it's only natural that we Harvest More in 2022 as we join in Harrisburg once again. Officials added that many of the event's popular features will be returning, including the thousand-pound butter sculpture, the food court, sheep-shearing competitions and cooking demonstrations. The in-person 2022 Pennsylvania Farm Show is slated to run from January 8th through January 15th.

>>Deadly Beatdown At Philly Restaurant

(Philadelphia, PA) -- One man is dead following a gruesome assault at a well-known restaurant in the city. What started as an argument at Pat's King of Steaks between multiple people early Thursday morning quickly escalated into a fight. That's when someone picked up a garbage lid and started to beat another man in his head. Police were called for help, but by the time they had got there, the 28-year-old man was dead on the ground. Two others were hospitalized with severe injuries. Detectives are reviewing surveillance video in hopes that it will direct them to the person responsible. Four suspects in all are being sought by the police.

>>Eagles Host Niners At The Linc

(Philadelphia, PA) -- Football is back at the Linc this weekend. After a big road win in week-one, the Philadelphia Eagles will return to Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday. The San Francisco 49ers will come to town fresh off a win last week. It'll be the first time that quarterback Jalen Hurts and rookie wideout DeVonta Smith hit the field together in front of the home crowd. Kickoff is set for 1 o'clock on Sunday.
