Harrisburg police are getting riot gear. City Council approved the funding last night by a five-to-one vote. Police Chief Tom Carter spoke at the meeting saying he needs to be prepared for anything so his officers can go home to their families each night. The funds for the gear are contingent upon council researching a possible task force in community policing.
