Man in custody for hitting woman and slashing man's face

A 23-year-old Lancaster man is in custody after police allege he assaulted two people.  Isaias Vargas Jr is facing a felony count of aggravated assault and misdemeanor counts of simple assault and possession of marijuana.  Police say Vargas hit a 22-year-old woman in the face Monday on the 100 block of North Plum Street, then slashed a 29-year-old man on the face with a knife.  Officers say the dispute may have been about a relationship between the woman and Vargas.
