Even calling next door will require an area code

Verizon customers are going to have to start dialing the 7-1-7 area code for all calls.  The change will begin on August 26th.  If customers don't use the area code, the call will not go through. Also, beginning in September, new phone lines in the 7-1-7 area may get a 2-2-3 code instead.
