A former researcher at Penn State Hershey Medical Center is awaiting sentencing for lying about medical tests. Floyd Benko pleaded guilty to false statement charges yesterday. Officials say Benko did not follow standard operating procedures while performing gene mutation tests on 124 advanced-stage cancer patients. Penn State had to hire an outside lab to retest all the patients, costing almost 70-thousand dollars.
