Pennsylvania State Police officials say troopers shot and killed a 79-year-old man after he fired his weapon at officers this morning.
Police say York County 9-1-1 received a call about 3:30 A.M. about a man with mental health issues, who was threatening violence against law enforcement and emergency personnel.
State police say they made contact with the man around 4 A.M.
They say he fired his weapon at troopers. Officers fired back and hit the man, who died from his injuries.
No officers were injured.
The State Police Major Case Team is investigating.
