The Philadelphia Police Department is clearing the air about the suspected presence of a nationally-known murder suspect. The PPD said Monday it received information suggesting Steve Stephens, who is being sought after allegedly murdering an elderly man in Cleveland and posting it on social media, was seen in the Fairmount Park area. Police said in a statement there was no indication to believe Stephens was spotted locally. More than 30 schools in West Philadelphia were placed on lockdown yesterday while police investigated, but were able to dismiss on a normal schedule.
