A foot of snow (or more) falling on the region

Governor Wolf is asking Pennsylvanians to stay off the roads.  Wolf declared a state of emergency statewide yesterday in advance of the expected snow.  He also urged people to be prepared for power outages and to check on any elderly neighbors. 

PPL Brings In Extra Crews

PPL has extra power crews on hand.  The company made the announcement yesterday in advance of the expected winter weather.  Two-hundred-50 out-of-state workers are in the area to help with power outages or other issues.  PPL is reminding people not to go near downed wires.

Amtrak Running On Modified Schedule

Amtrak is operating a modified schedule in the Northeast today.  There is no Acela Express service between New York City and Boston and there is limited Acela Express service between New York City and Washington, DC.  Keystone Service will operate on a severe weather schedule.  Passengers are being encouraged to use Amtrak.com or the mobile app to check their train status.
