Governor delivers budget address

Governor Tom Wolf laid out his over $32-billion dollar tax proposal and in it, put a lot of focus on three areas: education, opioids, and seniors.

CBS-21 reports Wolf is proposing a $200-million dollar increase in education funding, $125-million for K-12 classrooms and $75-million to expand early education.

Wolf said," If you ask Pennsylvanians about their top priority the odds are that if theyre parents or granparents theyll start by telling you about their kids or grandkids."

For seniors, the governor introduced a new program called Community Healthchoices to help them get care in their communities rather than at facilities and to address the opioid crisis, Wolf included in the budget $10-million dollars for naloxone for first responders and over $3-million to expand specialty drug courts.
