A disabled Maryland woman is suing Hersheypark. Deann Walter, who uses a scooter to get around, filed the papers earlier this month. The suit claims Hersheypark is discriminating against Walter because it failed to provide and correct barriers to her access. The suit cites improper signage, lack of spaces designated for disabled use, inaccessible parking, overly-steep slopes and lack of proper handrails. Hersheypark officials say they would have been eager to discuss any issues with Walter but have no record of ever being alerted to her concerns.
