Every day in the U.S. an average of 21 people die while awaiting organ transplants because of a critical shortage of donors. At UPMC-Pinnacle in our area alone there are 280 people on the transplant list.
Dr. William Hoffman & Becca Brown with UPMC Pinnacle Transplant Services will share with us the many operations/transplants they have done and explain why there's such a need for organs and the shortage. They will also explain how people can be a "living donor" and how surgical advances has made donating easier.
