Comcast, the telecommunications giant, has disclosed a data breach that potentially impacted over 230,000 of its customers. The breach was linked to a ransomware attack on Financial Business and Consumer Solutions (FBCS), a debt collection agency used by Comcast.

The ransomware attack on FBCS occurred in February, but the extent of the breach and its impact on Comcast customers has only recently been revealed in a filing with Maine's Attorney General. The compromised data includes sensitive customer information such as names, addresses, and social security numbers.

Comcast has not yet released details on how it plans to address the breach or what measures it will take to protect its customers. The incident underscores the vulnerability of customer data, even when held by third-party service providers.
