Janelle Stelson, a former television journalist, has won the election for Pennsylvania's 10th Congressional District, defeating incumbent Republican Scott Perry. This victory flips the U.S. House seat to the Democrats, as reported by CBS21.
Stelson's win marks a significant change in a district that includes Dauphin County and parts of Cumberland and York counties. The race was a rematch of the 2024 election, where Perry narrowly defeated Stelson by about 5,100 votes. This time, Stelson secured approximately 150,000 votes compared to Perry's 115,000, with 85% of the vote counted, according to CBS21.
The election outcome is part of a broader trend, with Democrats gaining control of both the U.S. Senate and House in the midterm elections. Stelson's victory contributes to this shift, as Democrats aim to set a new legislative agenda in Congress. Results are not final until PA State authorities review and formally certify the final vote totals.
