Lidl has expanded its recall of cookies due to undeclared allergens, affecting customers across multiple states. Initially, the grocery chain recalled its Eridanous Shortbread Cookies with Chocolate Truffle Coating and Apricot Filling. Now, it includes the Eridanous Shortbread Cookies with Apricot Filling and Cocoa Topping with Coconut Sprinkles. The recall stems from packaging issues where labels were in a foreign language, failing to indicate in English that the products contain wheat, soy, milk, and eggs.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that these cookies were distributed to Lidl stores in states including Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and others from July 15 through July 28, 2026. No illnesses have been reported so far. Customers with allergies to wheat, soy, milk, eggs, or tree nuts are advised not to consume these products.

Lidl initiated this expanded recall following a review of supplier distribution records that identified additional units with similar packaging errors. Customers can discard the affected products or return them to any Lidl store for a full refund. For further inquiries, Lidl has provided a Customer Care Hotline at (844) 747-5435.

The recall highlights the importance of accurate labeling to prevent serious allergic reactions. As a precaution, customers should check their purchases for the recalled products and take immediate action if necessary.
