Skeletal Remains in York County Identified as Missing Man

Skeletal remains found in York County, Pennsylvania, have been identified as a 37-year-old man from Hanover Borough who went missing in May 2025. The remains were discovered in a wooded area near Old Ridge Road and Ridge Avenue on Tuesday (June 9) and were identified through dental records, according to the York County Coroner's Office.

The man's death was ruled a suicide by asphyxia. Officials confirmed that there is no suspicion of foul play and no concern for the community. The York County Forensic Team assisted in collecting the remains, and the Mercyhurst Forensic Anthropology Laboratory aided in the identification process.

The discovery marks the second instance of human remains found in the area within two months. Previously, remains were found on April 16, 2026, and identified as Mark Hicks, another missing Hanover man. Hicks' death was also ruled a suicide.

Investigations are ongoing, with multiple agencies involved, including the Penn Township Police Department, Hanover Borough Police Department, and the York County Coroner’s Office. More information will be released following further analysis by the forensic team.
