A kindergarten graduation ceremony at Ben Franklin School in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, turned chaotic on Thursday (May 29) when a fight broke out among adults. The incident, captured on video, shows multiple individuals involved in a physical altercation, with a baby caught in the middle.
The Harrisburg School District confirmed the fight stemmed from a domestic dispute involving adults. According to CBS 21, the aggressor has been charged with disorderly conduct and trespassing. The identity of the man has not been released.
Witnesses expressed shock and concern over the incident, which disrupted what should have been a celebratory event for young students. Katherine Camilli, a Harrisburg resident, told CBS 21, "It’s terrible. I can’t believe that happened. I don’t know why you would fight at a graduation."
The Harrisburg School District emphasized that such behavior is unacceptable and reiterated its commitment to the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors. PennLive reported that the district stated, "We are extremely disappointed in the behavior displayed by adults involved in the domestic dispute incident."
The incident has raised concerns among parents and community members about the safety of children during school events. Many expressed disbelief that a fight could occur in such a setting, with some calling for adults to act more responsibly in the presence of children.
