A 17-year-old from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Dalaysia Terrell-Brown, appeared in Dauphin County court on Tuesday (May 26) for a preliminary hearing regarding the alleged stabbing and killing of her boyfriend, 18-year-old Tamar Shaw. Terrell-Brown is accused of fatally stabbing Shaw and posting Instagram videos showing her holding a knife.

According to authorities, the incident occurred at Terrell-Brown's sister's home in Allison Hill. Terrell-Brown called 911 requesting an ambulance, and Shaw was transported to the hospital, where he later died from a single stab wound to the chest. The Dauphin County Coroner's Office ruled Shaw's death a homicide, noting that the stab wound required significant force.

During the court hearing, multiple witnesses testified, including Terrell-Brown's best friend and several Harrisburg police officers. The court heard that Terrell-Brown allegedly posted videos on Instagram before the incident, showing her threatening Shaw with a knife. One video reportedly depicted her attempting to stab Shaw, while another showed her making threatening remarks.

Terrell-Brown's attorney argued that the videos were not directed at Shaw but at "other girls." The defense also characterized the incident as "normal boyfriend-girlfriend behavior," with Terrell-Brown's best friend testifying that the couple was "just playing around."

The case has drawn emotional reactions from both families, with Shaw's aunt, Cheryl Hughes, expressing the pain of reliving the events. Terrell-Brown's family declined to comment, and her plea has not been publicly entered.

Terrell-Brown faces charges of murder, possession of an instrument of a crime, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She remains in custody at the Dauphin County Prison without bail, as a judge deemed her a "threat to society." The next step in the legal process is a formal arraignment.

The case remains under investigation, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Harrisburg Police Bureau.
