GoFundMe Launched for Children of Murdered Teacher

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support the children of Taryn Morgan, a beloved teacher from Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, who was tragically murdered last week. The fundraiser has already raised nearly $25,000, with all contributions going directly into a family trust for Taryn's son and two daughters.

According to CBS21, the Pennsylvania State Police reported that Taryn was fatally shot by her husband, Dennis Morgan, at their home in Jefferson Township. Dennis also suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound and is not expected to survive.

Taryn Morgan was a high school agriculture teacher and cheer coach at the Upper Dauphin Area School District. She was also a co-owner of the Carsonville Hotel. The school district released a statement acknowledging her significant impact on students and staff, with Superintendent Jared Shade expressing the deep loss felt by the community.

Community members have been sharing tributes and memories of Taryn online. The Upper Dauphin FFA & Ag plans to hold a plant sale on Saturday to honor her memory, with proceeds going to support her children. Former students describe her as a kind, caring, and dedicated educator who was more than just a teacher—she was a mentor and role model.

The tragic incident has left the community in shock, with many mourning the loss of someone who was deeply respected and loved. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and the community continues to rally around Taryn's family during this difficult time.
