The tragic drowning of a five-month-old girl at a hotel in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, has been ruled accidental by the county coroner. The incident occurred on Monday (May 11) at the Best Western Plus Intercourse Village Inn & Suites in Leacock Township. Authorities confirmed that the drowning took place in a hotel room, not in the pool.
Pennsylvania State Police responded to the scene around 6:04 p.m. and found the infant in cardiac arrest. Despite efforts by emergency responders to resuscitate her, the child was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the infant has not been released.
The child's mother is cooperating with the ongoing investigation, which involves the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office, Children and Youth Services, and the coroner's office.
