York County authorities have identified the teenager killed in a shooting at Penn Park on Tuesday night (May 5). The victim, 15-year-old Dy Qual Harris, was pronounced dead at the scene after being shot in the left shoulder and torso. The York County Coroner's Office ruled the death a homicide following an autopsy conducted on Friday.
The incident occurred around 10:14 p.m., and York City Police are actively investigating. Detective Commander Andy Baez has called on the community to assist in piecing together the events leading to the shooting. "I asked the community kids that were out there, parents of these kids that might know that their kids were out there.
The York City Police Department has requested anyone with information to contact them through various channels, including their tip line.
The School District of the City of York confirmed that Harris was a former student. They expressed condolences and made support services available to students and staff affected by the tragedy.
