A fire in Lebanon City, Pennsylvania, displaced multiple residents and pets on Sunday (May 10) after it damaged two homes on South 11th Street. The fire, which started in the kitchen of one house, quickly spread to a neighboring residence, leading to both being condemned. According to Lebanon City Fire Chief Aaron Sweitzer, a neighbor called 911 just before 12:30 p.m. when the homeowners were not present.

The fire displaced at least four people, including three adults, one child, and a dog from the second home. Four cats from the house where the fire originated were treated for smoke inhalation. Extreme hoarding conditions in the first home made it difficult for firefighters to combat the blaze, contributing to the rapid spread of the fire. These conditions also prevented some second-floor doors from being opened, according to Fox43.

The Red Cross is assisting those displaced by the fire. The cause of the blaze is currently under investigation, and authorities have not yet been able to contact the owners of the home where the fire started, leaving the total number of displaced individuals unclear.
