Cyclist Fatally Struck by Vehicle in Lancaster County

A tragic accident occurred on Thursday evening (May 7) in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, when a cyclist was hit by a vehicle in Warwick Township. The incident took place around 5:55 p.m. at the intersection of Rothsville Road and Shirley Lane, according to reports from WGAL News 8.

The cyclist, identified as Christian Noto, a 24-year-old from Ephrata, was pronounced dead at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital shortly after the crash. Police reported that Noto was traveling east on the rail trail when he entered the roadway and was struck by a silver Ford Fusion sedan traveling southbound. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Authorities are seeking the public's help in identifying Noto, who was initially described as a white male between 18 to 35 years old with a thin build, short beard, and straight brown and blonde hair. He was wearing shorts, red sneakers, and had a red backpack with tools. His bicycle was described as a homemade silver 10-speed with distinctive features, including two water bottle holders and a headlamp.

The Northern Lancaster County Regional Police are investigating the incident with their crash reconstruction team.
