Juveniles Injured in Scooter Accident in Pennsylvania

Two juveniles sustained minor injuries after being hit by a vehicle while riding an electric stand-up scooter in Columbia, Pennsylvania, on Monday (May 4). According to the Columbia Borough Police Department, the incident occurred near the intersection of South Second and Union Streets. The juveniles reportedly ran a stop sign and entered the path of a vehicle traveling west on Union Street.

The police emphasized that riding electric stand-up scooters on public streets and sidewalks is illegal in Pennsylvania. They urged residents to familiarize themselves with local laws regarding micromobility devices, which can be found on the Pennsylvania Micromobility Information Sheet.

The minors involved in the accident are expected to recover fully. Columbia police remind the public of the importance of adhering to traffic laws and regulations to ensure safety on the roads.
