A former FedEx driver, Luis Hernandez Martinez, is facing charges after allegedly attempting to lure a teenage girl into his delivery truck in Adams County, Pennsylvania. According to Pennsylvania State Police, the 37-year-old approached the 16-year-old girl on April 1 while she was walking home from Latimore Park. The girl reported that Hernandez Martinez asked if she lived in the area, requested her phone number, and inquired about her relationship status. When she declined to provide her number, he allegedly offered her a ride in his truck, assuring her she would be "safe with me."
The police investigation, aided by MSC Logistics, a FedEx subcontractor, identified Hernandez Martinez as the driver. He admitted to speaking with the girl and complimenting her appearance but denied inviting her into his vehicle. He expressed remorse upon learning the girl was underage and acknowledged his behavior was unprofessional.
Hernandez Martinez is charged with two misdemeanors: luring a child into a motor vehicle and corruption of minors. He is currently out on an unsecured $10,000 bail. FedEx confirmed that he no longer works for the company, stating, "The individual involved is no longer providing service for our company." The investigation remains active, and further inquiries are directed to law enforcement.
