Firefighters from Berks County joined forces with local crews to battle a brush fire in Chester County on Monday (May 4). The blaze, located in Warwick Township near Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site and French Creek State Park, was reported in the afternoon. Officials confirmed that the fire, which consumed approximately seven acres, is now contained. However, firefighters remain on site to monitor and extinguish any remaining hot spots.

The fire's proximity to popular recreational areas prompted a swift response from multiple fire companies. According to WFMZ, the fire was contained by late Monday, but crews are expected to stay for several hours to ensure it does not reignite.

While the fire is under control, the cause remains unknown. The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) continues to investigate. The DCNR has advised residents to avoid outdoor burning due to the dry conditions and low humidity, which can increase the risk of wildfires.

Local residents are grateful for the quick action taken by firefighters. A sign on St. Peters Road expressed appreciation, reading "Thank You" to the emergency responders who worked tirelessly to contain the fire.
