Barn Fire Uncovers Stolen Pickup in Tilden Township

A barn fire in Tilden Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, led to the discovery of a stolen vehicle on Friday (May 1). The fire, reported at approximately 2:45 p.m. on Dogwood Road, engulfed a two-story barn, causing the roof to collapse. Firefighters from the Shartlesville Fire Company and other mutual-aid departments responded to the scene, bringing the blaze under control within an hour.

According to WFMZ, the barn was primarily used for storage and did not house any animals. During the investigation, state police discovered a burned Ford Super Duty pickup truck within the collapsed structure. The vehicle had been reported stolen within the previous 24 hours, as noted by Reading Eagle.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and damage is estimated to exceed $250,000. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the Troop L Fire Marshal Unit at 610-378-4011. The investigation into both the fire and the stolen vehicle is ongoing.
