Arrest Made in Harrisburg Hit-and-Run Incident

A Harrisburg woman, Tahirah Stewart, has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run incident that left an 11-year-old child in critical condition. The incident occurred on Saturday (April 18) in the 2400 block of Derry Street. According to the Harrisburg Bureau of Police, Stewart, 36, allegedly struck the child with her vehicle and fled the scene.

Police responded to the scene and discovered that the vehicle involved had left without offering assistance. The child was quickly transported to a local hospital and remains in critical condition. Following an investigation, officers located the vehicle in a nearby municipality and identified Stewart as the driver. She has been charged with felony accidents involving death or personal injury and is currently out on $5,000 unsecured bail, as reported by WGAL.
