Halifax Schools Closed Due to Sewer Line Blockage

The Halifax Area School District in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, announced the closure of all schools on Monday (April 20) due to a sewer line blockage. The blockage developed over the weekend, prompting the district to take swift action to address the issue.

Superintendent Tyler S. James stated that a contracted vendor is scheduled to begin repairs early Monday morning. The district anticipates that the repairs will be completed within the day, allowing schools to reopen and resume normal schedules on Tuesday (April 21).

An email notification was sent to all families in the district to inform them of the closure and the expected timeline for resuming classes. Local 21 News reported that the district is working diligently to ensure the issue is resolved promptly.
