Former School District Employee Accused Of Relationship With Student

In Juniata County, Pennsylvania, a former employee of the Juniata County School District, James Towsey, 27, is facing charges for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a student. According to the Pennsylvania State Police, Towsey admitted to sending nude photos to a female student and drinking alcohol with her in his garage while working at East Juniata High School.

The charges against Towsey include a misdemeanor for corruption of minors, filed on April 6. The alleged incidents occurred during the second half of the 2024-2025 school year. Towsey was placed on leave in July 2025 when the investigation by the state police began, as stated by the district’s Superintendent, Christie Holderman.

Court documents reveal that Towsey confessed to the allegations during questioning. He is scheduled for a preliminary arraignment on May 7. The case highlights ongoing concerns about the safety and well-being of students in educational environments.
